Default Did anyone get a new pet for Christmas?

I got a cat four years ago for Christmas (Dec. 4 since it isn't as busy), and he is still my favorite gift ever, even when he annoys me.

Anyone else?

I have never got a pet for Christmas, but I would love to get a pet as a gift. I think it would be best if I had some kind of idea already, getting a pet is a big event!

Well, I adopted a dog from animal control on Dec 4th, so I guess she was an early Christmas present! Her name's Molly, and she's a rat terrier mixed with a lot of things! I just tried to take a flattering picture of her with my phone, but she's so wiggly, I couldn't get a good shot! She's the sweetest girl, and my other dog, a chihuahua/jack russell mix (also from animal control) LOVES her.

We took in a stray cat that was wondering the neighborhood. She has turned out to be a really behaved and nice cat.

Congrats on the new pet! And cool on not buying from a breeder. There are so many homeless pets out there already.

No, it is a Brazilain Peacock! You must not be too familiar with exotic birds, I'm guessing. But thats OK! I used to have a 'bearded Dragon', but it kept biting me when I would feed it! His name was Don. Cute lil' fellow, but had a bad disposition. Only when I would give him a little dab of peanut butter, would he be calm. Never figured tha one out.
