Default Have you used Lysine for cats?

My vet recommended Lysine to help with my cat's allergies. He acted like I could just go to the pet store and get it, but that's not the case.

I can only find it online at places like entirelypets.com I haven't ordered from them though, and did read some bad reviews.

Have any of you tried it? It's called Viralys gel by VET solutions.

My cats need to lysine...especially under stress.

We get the lysine powder (my husband got it online somewhere at a people website). We mix it with some water and add it to their food. Or - in the case of my boy cat who eats anything, we can just give him the lysine water straight up.

The gel isn't usually all that helpful because most cats don't like it (again, my boy cat who eats everything is the exception).

Let me know if you have more q's!

Oh darn. The gel is on its way to me, so I guess I'll try it first.

Thanks.

Well, never mind. I had to cancel the order because it was on backorder so long. Silly.

I agree I've used lysine powder for my cat and it seem to make her feel much better. I just mix it with her water and she drinks it.

Ok. I will try the powder. Maybe my cat will start drinking out of her bowls more instead of the tub and sink!
