Default What kind of dog is best with kids?

Hello,

Any help or guidance from anyone would be appreciated.

I have a 7 year old son and a 2 year old daughter. We are thinking about getting a dog, but want one that is great with kids and doesn't shed.

Any suggestions?

Default The best dogs for Kids

Hi Karen,

I come from a big family of 7 kids and when i was growing up we had labradors and golden retrievers. I would say Golden retrievers are the most loving and kid-friendly dogs in the world.
You cant go wrong with a Golden retriever , they are the best.

Good luck with your final decision!

Cheers,
Matt

My mother-in-law has raised dogs her whole life, even bred some, as well as had international champions. I think she is an expert when it comes to dogs. Anyway...now that she has grandchildren she decded to select her most recent dog with the children in mind. She got a (standard) Schnauzer, mainly for the disposition and the size. She (the dog) is a year old now and is about 16 inches tall (her back, not her head). Her personality is very sweet and playful. She is not high-strung, but not overly mellow either. Just a nice dog. Good luck finding your new family member.
