Marc Jacobs is all about the quilted leather and gold chain shoulder straps this season. Exhibit A: His new
Quilted Julianne handbag (possibly named after fellow New Yorker Julianne Moore?). The black shiny grained leather bag with a stitched patchwork pattern strikes a balance between upper-crust sophistication and youthful downtown hipness. Anyone who’s been to the West Village, where Jacobs’ Bleecker Street boutique (and Ms. Moore) holds court, can see the parallels - it’s high-end but edgy. Kudos for the gold hardware and one-two punch of the leather handle and (what else?) gold chain shoulder strap.
