Are you sitting down? Good. Then you won’t fall over in shock when I tell you that this Lulu Guinness Penelope Evening Bag has a waiting list. Okay, so the black satin bag is pretty - it also comes in navy and fuschia, by the way - but there’s nothing particulary special about it. The gold frame and strangely rounded strap look awkward to me, and I think the gold-threaded logo on the front is too showy. It’s more like something a girl would take to the prom to wear with her Jessica McClintock dress - not a high-fashion item worth a long wait.
