Patent doesn’t always equal glamorous. Look no further than Burberry for proof. The brand’s Patent Ashcombe Clutch Handbag looks more like a pencil case I had in second grade than a high-end accessory. Maybe my pencil case didn’t have a signature equestrian knight on it, but it had the same bold gleam and slim shape. The glassy sheen makes the leather look faux from every angle, which makes this whole thing very unfortunate. We all expect better from Burberry. Available for €425 at Luisa Via Roma.
