Runway Review: Hermes Spring 2008 Handbags

Victoria Beckham can sleep easy tonight, as there were a slew of Hermes purses for their No. 1 fan to sink her teeth into at the Hermes Spring 2008 show in Paris. Chestnut, white, honey, green, a bizarre burgundy/orange/red crocodile creation, and (my favorite) an intense teal ostrich Birkin - there were lots of eye candy for Hermes purists, including clutches and an odd padlock-shaped evening bag. But ultimately the show felt like a disappointment. Yes, the Birkin and the Kelly bag are classics, but where’s the reinvention? Where’s the new stuff? At least give us some more exciting colors!
While the handbags didn’t exactly break new ground, they did confirm once and for all that crocodile is HUGE right now. Seriously, are there any reptiles still breathing?

seriously..what a beautiful and breathtaking collection...good thing all those bag addicts still managed to stay in their seats and not grab those bags from the catwalk hehe!!!
