Runway Review: Gucci Spring 2008 Handbags

If you’re going to only show a handful of
purses, as
Gucci did at its
Spring 2008 runway show, they had better be knockouts. And the black
snakeskin handbags that came down the runway were; fierce and packing lots of attitude, these babies boasted a dark vibe and metal details that was at once sexy and scary. But the rest of the
handbags played it safe…think small
clutches in black patent with a touch of gold hardware, and yet another rendition of that awful
Indy bag (enough with the tassles and metal plate details!). When is
Gucci going to create an “it bag” already?
