Since teaming up with Tod’s, designer Derek Lam has done a great job of breathing fresh new trends into a classic bag brand (see the new ads with Sienna Miller for proof). For his own line of purses, Lam doesn’t shy away from innovative or avant garde designs either. This Guinivere Saddle Handbag certainly isn’t boring or predictable. Made with dark brown madras pebble-grained leather, this geometric handbag has a futuristic-meets-Western vibe that makes it a truly unique everyday bag. I like the architectural look (it kind of reminds me of a city skyline or a “Star Wars” spaceship) contrasted with rustic details like brass hardware. Bonus? There are plenty of pockets and storage space lurking within.
