After seeing Jessica Simpson’s blah handbag collection and Fergie’s cheesy teen-tacular line for Kipling, I was a little dubious about Dooney & Bourke’s partnership with Hayden Panettiere of “Heroes.” But now that I’ve had a chance to ogle the end result, this gleaming red Hayden Bag, I’m thinking maybe celebrities aren’t half-bad at this design thing. Red leather purses are tres chic right now, so Hayden gets points for the punchy color. I also love the design - from the pleated leather to the buckled front flap. It’s classic, but still unique. The only thing I’m not crazy about is the HP logo tag. I don’t really want to advertise the fact that I’m wearing something created by a teenager who plays a cheerleader on TV, you know? Other than that, I’m sold. $500 at Dooney.com
