Derek Lam had a few sleeper hit purses last year, and nothing has caught on since. This Derek Lam Aggie Chain Handle Handbag represents why. It’s too simple! If I want a bag like this, I’ll hit Banana Republic and save myself about a grand. While I am a minimalist at heart, I simply don’t understand designers who use simple designs without giving us some sort of run for our money (literally). The washed leather and dark brass are a bit too “deconstructed” for my taste. I think it’s supposed to be a contrast of a ladylike design with rugged materials, but it’s lacking execution.
