I’m already scoping out next season’s best brights in the hopes of adding some well-chosen accessories to my collection. There’s nothing better than a pop of color to really transform an outfit, and I thought I’d found a real winner in this Marc Jacobs Flat Tote. Hot, eye-popping color in an unexpected shade of salmon? Check. Perfect-as-usual buttery leather? Yep. Space to haul all of my necessities with room to spare? Of course. Lovely, polished gold hardware? NO. And therein lies the problem with this otherwise-fabulous purse: The topstitching is clever and cute, but wouldn’t real pockets and hardware be even more enticing? I think so.
