I’m beginning to think it takes fingers of gold to really pull off a truly glamorous patchwork bag. Even regular fashion geniuses like Dolce and Gabbana can’t do justice to the basic Patchwork Clutch, which looks jokey and goofy with its diamond pattern and bits of snakeskin interspersed with black leather. To its credit, the fuller shape makes it extra practical when your night out demands more room than what’s provided by the typical tiny evening bag. But I’d probably sacrifice space for beauty - or just seek out something else completely - instead of carrying this dud. Available for $870 at MyTheresa.
