Default Marc Jacobs Spring Summer 2007

Marc Jacobs Spring Summer 2007

By: Kitsch K.

Frou, frou and more frou. I have no precise words in my vocabulary to describe the Spring Summer 2007 Collection of Marc Jacobs. Don’t get me wrong, I love Marc Jacobs. He has this steady, quirky and unique style which is casual and at the same time very cool. But his latest collection seems to be targeted at a fashion audience circa 2010. The dresses are too frilly and do not have any sense of composure and unity. They’re very avant-garde and seem to be too complicated for reality. But I acknowledge the fact that this is a runway show and anything goes. So this might just be a fantasy illustration and interpretation of his latest designs. There are a few beautiful pieces here and there but I must admit as a Marc Jacobs fan that I am quite disappointed. But I bet his loyal muses and clients like bohemian filmmaker Sofia Coppola would still surely appreciate and love this collection. I guess it was a case of too many ideas in one collection. What do you think of this MJ collection?

Wow...Marc Jacobs spring/summer 2007 collection has gone a bit overboard. I truly appreciate fashion as art, but these outfits are completely unpractical, even for a red carpet event.
