Any illusions I harbored over becoming a great chef came to a halt when I realized that that would involve wearing a universally unflattering chef’s hat. I wanted to make mushroom caps, not wear them. But do I want to carry one? Miu Miu has turned the dopey, doughy hat on its head (literally) by fashioning the shape into a luxury purse - the Chef Hat Bag, obviously. With its Zaffiro vitello leather pleated like a pie crust and its midsection cinched by a buckled band, the purse does what it can to snuff out any connections to Ratatouille. Stil, I’m not biting. To me, the chef’s hat shape is unmistakable, and it’s just not for me. Please pack your knives and go.
