Marc Jacobs Waist Pack

Whether they call it a waist pack or a fanny pack, the idea behind it is the same. Unfortunately, not even Marc Jacobs can save this serious fashion faux pas. With his signature combination of gloriously smooth leather and elegant gold hardware, Jacobs’ Waist Pack, part of the MARC by Marc Jacobs collection, looks more like a wide belt with a miniature purse attached to it. Separately, these two pieces would be fabulous. I’d love to wear a wide brown leather belt with gold accents or carry a cute little bag with a top flap closure and turn-lock closure. Together, though, they look like they’re trying hard to be the grown-up fanny pack that never existed in the ’80s (though I’ll admit it’s worlds more attractive than the nylon monstrosities of that era).
