Power suits infused with old-school glam kicked off Armani Prive’s Paris couture show. Sleek, low-cut blazers came adorned with futuristic leather sashes, while less severe gray and metallic pencil skirts and leggings were topped by both form-fitting tunics and classic boxy blazers. Think Barbara Stanwyck and Marlene Dietrich for the 2000s. The classic, elegant dress suits would suit a woman of any age, though the sexy one-shoulder dresses that followed are best for younger ladies with great bodies. A handful of Indian sari-inspired gowns appeared as well. It’s nice to see Mr. Armani staying true to his elegant aesthetic. Who needs bold colors and patterns when your construction and material are this exquisite?
