I swear, this bag looks like it was inspired by a man’s dress shoe. The Gucci Romy Medium Boston Bag is sleek, shiny and squat. It’s constructed of black python, a material which often comes across as gaudy and excessive. Here, though, it’s sophisticated, and the buckle detail, accented by silver, is handsome and understated. While I really like the bag, I wouldn’t carry it. For all its glamour, there’s something cold and unfeeling about its plain Jane shape and masculine vibe. And with a $3490 price tag, this bag needs to do a lot more for me before I’d consider coughing up that kind of cash. Available at gucci.com.
