I thought I was over the
Luella Giselle thing a long time ago, especially when knockoffs starting turning up everywhere. But this version, constructed of plush suede and pebbled calfskin, is undeniably appealing. The combination of rich brown and dark teal is unusual, and it makes for an unexpected neutral. It goes a bit over-the-top in the stud department, but they do give the bag character, something I feel it lost in the commotion over the years. The only drawback to the Giselle is its ease of use; it’s a bit cumbersome to open and close, but it’s a great everyday bag with a timeless quality. This one is more trendy than classic, but the colors will always be admirable.
