Paris Couture Week: The Best of the Rest
By: Erin D.

Not everything can be
Chanel or
Armani. In between heavy-hitters like
Valentino and
Christian Dior at this year’s
Paris haute couture collections were smaller French designers. To be honest, there’s a reason why most of these labels haven’t gained fame in the United States, and it’s called “ugly clothes.” However, there were a few - and I mean a few - highlights.
Christophe Joffe’s collection included a lovely pink cupcake of a frock as well as a simple but alluring long brown sheath.
Maurizio Gallante did some beatuiful things with cream embroidery, and
Lefranc Ferrant showed both a short and a long version of a cute pleated violet frock. The rest, as they say, was tres mal.
