Default Privileged Girls

I personally have a big beef with women like Lauren Conrad, Ally Hilfiger, and Kristin Cavaleri (sp?) who are famous for no reason other than being rich. I think it's indicative of our raging class issues in this country. What are your thoughts?

well it's becoming more and more of a trend in vogue US to feature privileged girls and the people in the media have to understand that they have to feature women who actually accomplished something...

what do you think we can do to encourage the media to feature women of substance? like, write letters to the editors of magazines? encourage blogs to feature more impactful women?

i don't think that it is media's mistake...people from middle class are very interested in knowing about the lives of the rich and famous..and as these people form the majority of the audience or the readers, the media, be it print or electronic has to comply with their tastes and choices.
