Name That GUCCI! Did you watch Cashmere Mafia???

Hello Everyone!

I have found a new guilty TV pleasure. Thank God for that during this writer strike! I caught the first half of Cashmere Mafia tonight. The Character Lucy Liu plays, Mia, treated herself to a new GUCCI bag to celebrate her new promotion. Totally appropriate and necessary IMHO. It was a big gorgeous red bag with brass hardware and top handles. It looked a little bigger than my Manor bag and had what looked like a fabric with leather trim. I have searched the GUCCI site and couldn't find its' equal. HELP!!! You can catch the episode at ABC.com on Thursday if you missed it. It is like a ceremony when she opens her ginormous box and unveils it from the dustbag, I got misty...

ohhhhh i am going to watch that episode and look for that bag...in gossip girl episode 13 serena was also toting a very stunning silver gucci....*drooling!!*

I found it!!!!!! The Gucci bag in question is the GUCCI Aviatrix Large Boston Bag. The medium version is available at Bergdorf in NYC and online, but I have yet to find a source for the large.

If you haven't seen this bag yet, you must look at ABC's website and watch the beginning of Cashmere Mafia. It is the very first scene and all the characters are seen getting their handbag ready for the day. It almost brought me to tears.

I have been searching and searching... It occured to me that I mis-spelt the name, initially. Idiot.

The correct spelling is Aviatrix Large Boston bag. They have a great selection at Neiman Marcus, but not the large Bordeaux color. It is not outrageously priced either, <$2400. They only have the large in black and a couple other strange colors.

Upon close examination, it seems that Lucy Liu's bag is still bigger than the large shown at neimanmarcus.com

I have to see it in person to tell for myself.

OH MY GOD! I am SO glad I found this place! I have been looking for this Gucci since I saw it and I keep rerunning the episode just so I can see Mia open that beautiful box and open up the dustcover and remove that gorgeous bag!!! I can't wait to hear what azcopwife finds out! I totally LUST after this bag

I watched the episode last night and you are all right - that bag is to die for!!!!! I also like the red/burgundy bag that Zoe was carrying (she grabed it off her desk when she was late meeting her husband and that other chick for dinner). Does anyone know the designer?

Hmmm...I'll have to check that out...I was too obsessed over the Gucci, LOL.

I have a question though...if they film this stuff so far ahead of when we actually see it, does it stand to reason AT ALL, that maybe what we see isn't even available b/c it might have been a season ago??? If that's so, that would really suck

Has anyone had any luck yet? I haven't been to a boutique but did find a large, not bordeaux, on neimanmarcus.com.

Has anyone else found anything else? Do the boutiques have it?

I went into the Gucci store in Scottsdale this past weekend. There are very few of the large Bordeaux's available, but they are out there. Any Gucci store can order it for you. As of last weekend, there were only supposedly 11 available. I was able to check out the "medium" in person and it was fab. I can't believe I'm really going to say this, but I think the Large one may be too big for me! And I LOVE big bags!! I think I'm going to get the medium size.

Unfortunately it's not extremely easy to track down since it's a Fall/Winter 2007 style/color. They've launched some new colors/patterns for Spring.

Are you sure Lucy isn't carrying the medium bag? The large is actually quite big, more of a weekend tote. I think she just makes the purse look bigger than it is because she's so petite

Well I did it- I bought the medium bag from the show- sued with patent leather trim- bordeaux color. It is FAB!! It definately makes a statement.....

Congratulations on your new purse!

I don't know how many times I visited the Bergdorf site and put the cranberry bag into my "cart" but then changed my mind! I was sad when I went back to the site again and that color was gone. But on I received a big shock on Valentines day when my honey gave me the medium cranberry Aviatrix! We live in Stockholm Sweden and he said the Gucci store has slated the Aviatrix as a classic in Europe so they carry all sizes and colors. I'm so proud of him! What makes me happier than the purse is that he obviously payed attention when I said I loved the bag. Big points for him!
