Miss USA

I am finding myself increasingly offended by the Miss USA pageant. In such a modern society, it seems really sexist and old fashioned to me.
Plus, doesn't it say something that the contestants can't be married, be moms, drink with underage... and they have to ask Donald Trump for permission to be in Playboy (not that that's a particuarly good thing)? It seems really protectionist to me.
Is it time to move on from pageantry, or is it still cool?
