I'll never forget how this one time, a sweet sweet guy took me three dozens of roses (and the vase had real pieces of fruit at the bottom, it was so cute) and a Dooney wristlet! He was such a sweetheart!

Well, my SO and I give each other gifts all year long so for Valentine's Day, we usually spend the day together. We'll go out to eat with my mom and our daughter during the day and at night, we'll spend it together. The usual gifts are nice... roses, chocolates (I lovelovelove chocolate truffles from See's), jewelry... I always get all three... I really LOVE the cards my daughter makes for me every year (all holidays).
I guess since we always -go all out- for each other all year, we aren't that big on holidays. We spend Christmas and birthdays with each other/our little family (do something fun, go out to eat) cause we get stuff all year long. This year, we don't even have gifts under our Christmas tree... None of us could think of anything we wanted.
OMG! That sounds kinda sad!

The sweetest thing I have ever received was a Great Dane puppy (I wanted this breed of dog forever) and 1 dozen roses.

I would have to say the best gift was when a guy I was dating got about 8 dozen roses took the petals off but them on the bed in a heart shape and put the rose petals on the stairs to led me to the bed room. It was so romantic.

The first valentine's day we were engaged, my now-husband sent flowers to my office. I know, nothing super-inventive or wild, but it was very sweet and no one had ever sent flowers to me at work before.

It was romantic. I thought it was really sweet. To bad the guy ended up being a jerk and getting jealous over the stupidest things.

I couldn't say I was given one particular "best" gift because to me, everything given is the best. But of course I always appreciate the common things --flowers and sweets, hehe! Especially Gerberas! I love them and they are the best!
