Wow, what a story! I hate I missed this one early on, but I just read every single post. I seriously don't know what to make of this guy. I think early on it was a light flirtation that he didn't think would go anywhere and then it seemed he bit off more then he could chew. When push came to shove he was honest, but I think he was crushing on you, but didn't know how to handle it. Marines are truly different animals then other men for sure.

He was probably saying goodby but it was a good gesture that you gave him your number. At work right? Good move.

Honey.... he has a serious crush on you and there is no harm in being friendly. At least he listens. and remembers what you said. Oh! I forgot they all listens before they say "I Do" LOL!! But seriously thus, he was a gentleman about getting your number, even if he did it on the sly, at least he did not walk up in your face like it was his God given right for you to give him your phone number.

I agree he was a weasel. He was just talking to you to get to know you and see if you would be the kind to sneak around with him and not be a threat that would tell his lady.

Serial cheaters do that. They prey on the women they think will give them what they want and keep quiet about it.

Ignore him! If you run into him again, act like you barely remember him as an employee there. Don't even ACKNOWLEDGE that you ever shared any level of friendliness or friendship with him. You must illustrate how unimportant he was in your life and that he has already slipped your mind.

If he sits down at your table, ask him off the wall questions like, "Are we friends?" "It's weird I hardly remember you, but, how long were we friends?" Then jsut stay silent and act like he is a stranger at your table.

Obviously the situation is unlikely to arise, but if it does, don't be caught off guard. You must be composed and articulate, otherwise he will thin, he left with the upper hand. IT is your duty as a woman to take the wind out of his sails.

That's all.
