A woman, absolutely. Not only would I get creeped out by a guy digging through my v-zone (outside of, you know, a bedroom setting, lol), but women doctors have enough of a hard time breaking into medicine, and guys need to encroach on the one specialty of medicine where gals can rule? It doesn't seem fair.
Plus, they say male gyncologists are "either perverts or misogynists."

I prefer a male OBGYN.

I don't know why but I don't like female OBGYNs treating me.

I have a male Dr. I have had a female before and she wasn't on her ps an qs and I walked away with more problem that could have been prevented with that visit .So I went and seen the male Dr. and he found out what was wrong so I have been with him for yrs now. It all depends on there methods of practice to me not weather they are male or female.

I don't care if it's a guy... he is a professional, so he won't giggle or something. He probably doesn't care himself.

Maybe for some really pretty girls he gets a little happy. But let him have the fun. Every job has some small benefits. And he can't do anything anyway.

But I also don't care if it's a girl. But most of the time guys look more professional and serious to me. (in every profession)

I always thought it was kind of awkward to have a guy, so I always go with a midwife. I just think a female is more understanding to the problems a woman has.

My gyno was male my entire life (including when I was pregnant) until I moved back to my home state. I currently have a female Dr. and I really don't see any difference. What does matter is that you feel comfortable with him/her.

That is all that matters you and how you feel.

I go once a year (We all should be going every year). I missed a few years, but am back on track and am not due to go again until September. It's all about prevention!

I have had both male and female OBGYNs and in the end switched my care to a midwife/women's health clinic. The men were ok, but some of the women Drs were really pushy with what THEY wanted me to do for my birth.

So I switched to a midwife practise, and they are all nurse practitioners instead. They are really wonderful, caring and gentle, and I would recommend them to anyone.

I already feel super uncomfortable with a woman. Imagine a guy? I would probably cry & then kick him!

And really, pap smears are an excellent method of early detection. With sufficient time, cervical cancer has an excellent survival rate. Catch it too late, and that rate drops hugely.

A male gyn most definitely.I had three kids and all of my ob/gyn's have been men. They are more gentle than females.

I have had female gynes and when they have done their exams on me,they weren't gentle. One even had long nails.Ouch.So that is why I choose a male.

Female gyn's know their limits and know that if it doesn't hurt them it won't hurt their patients. I've had a male and female.

I have had both. I prefer the female. I guess its a matter of thinking, hey, she has one, so she has a better sense of what is going on. LOL.

My mom had a male gynecologist and had bad experiences with him, so when the time came she insisted that I find a female one. I did, and was happy with it, so I've stuck to that choice. I think that having a male would be a bit awkward!

I always had issue with the fear that male gyns were just voyeuristic and did the job that gave them kicks. Unfounded I am sure, and likewise women could do the same.....so it is illogical but I can't help that

I've had both and don't have a preference as long as they are thorough and answer my questions readily. I've had male and female gyns that I didn't like.
