Default Need some advice

So, my husband and I are going to the Bahamas in June for our anniversary (same place we stayed at for our honeymoon) and I will have my dear friend 'Aunt Flo' visiting that whole week.

My husband and I have been TTC since August 2004, no luck yet, but my Endocrinologist put me on birth control to regulate my cycle and I took it for like 3 months then stopped.

So here's my question... I looked at my calendar (look at yours too please!) and remembered what the pills were like (7 days with white pills for 3 weeks and then 7 days with yellow pills). My cycles are normally between 33-35 days long (In March I started on the 16th and this month I started on the 19th... let me know if I calculated wrong) Anyways I was thinking if I started taking the pill the 2nd week in May which would be May 6th, the pill would start my period the week of the 28th. So If I do that I would get my period the week after I come back from the Bahamas. Ladies, help me out here!!

Will this work? Has anyone else done this?

Hi, Kelli

When in doubt, talk to your ob/gyn. He or she can help you figure out the combo of pills you need to keep Aunt Flo away during your vacation. I was really embarrassed when I had to go to my ob/gyn with a similar request, but she said she heard something like it at least a dozen times a week. The med combo she put me on worked, too.

I'm suppose to be on the pills anyways but I stopped taking them in hopes of getting my period on my own and getting pregnant on my own. I've gotten the periods but I'm not pregnant. I talked to my friend who is a nurses assistant so I got it all figured out. Thanks though!!

Glad you got it sorted

I got told that it takes a while for your body to get back to normal after you come off the pill after you've been on it a fair while, so while you might be having periods they could be just 'withdrawl' and not full periods yet.
