Default More Women Gay Than Men

I think I mentioned this in another thread-but why is it do you think? Are women just more open about their feelings, or is there something else that means that more women experiment than do men?

I think so because with men, it's so cut and dry. Very little shades of gray.

i think we're used to seeing women being gay ( meaning doing the kissing and stuff) rather than seeing gay men do their thing =)

Well, women can be more affectionate with other women then men can be with other men even if the woman isn't gay.

I don't know if there are more women that are gay than men. I've seen the scales weigh about the same.

Most women are more open but then so are most feminine men.

Macho men are more apt to stay in the closet in fear but I think butch women are more apt to come out and find love.

Make sense?

I think it's just that men are a lot more hostile about gay men than women (and a lot of guys for that matter) are about gay / bi women. I suspect there are equal numbers on both sides, just that guys feel more pressure to hide it.

Just guessing though - no statistics to back it up.

I think you are absolutely right Etali, that there is more pressure on men to hide it. Seems society makes it is more acceptable for women to be gay.

That would certainly make sense Etali. It really does seem that of those men who are open, it is more cut and dry-they are gay not bi, which can only mean that they are unwilling to face the persecution or whatever, if they don't have to.

I'm not sure either...This got me thinking! Yes, probably women are more open to show how they really feel than the males. The male tend to hide it sometimes, but you can tell with their actions and the way they speak that they're gay.

Yes, women are more open. When I was in college me and my friends were really affectionate. We'd hold hands, kiss each other and hug all the time. Guys at our school thought we were gay. Haha.

I would like to see what the actual numbers are but of course, they would probably be slanted as there are problably more men than women who are hiding their sexuality. Isn't that sad?

I think it's just that society is more able to accept women being gay, for whatever reason. How many times have we seen women kiss on television. I remember Rosanne even kissed a woman, then there was Brittney and Madonna. But you don't see men kissing other men..

I have to agree with you Lila42. Society does seem to be more accepting of gay women. As well I think that women are more open about certain things and do experiment alot more than men.

I think for women it is a trend, I think they see so many gay women that they wonder what it would be like to be one of them.

Not true what you have to uderstand is that women are actually more open about their gayness than men are. Men keep it on the downlow which isn't good at all.

Realy I thought that the only rises in the gay community were for gay car salesman and limo drivers and people from North of the Border

I have had a few experiences with women that are very good friends od mine. We are all married. But I have to say women who are good friends with you it is not a bad thing to try something crazy!! Meaning a little touchy feeling and believe me it was really nice. I am not gay but I would not say no to a pretty woman who wants to be with me.

One early experience I had was in college with a gil from Grand Rapids she was kinda on the manly side but really turned me on. She could weld and was a great skier which I was both interested in. We had the best night together I think I have ever had. Even thought she was bigger than what I usually like it was incredible. We had the best time I can remember!! So don't ever look down on things you have never tried.
