Depression and PMS (not to mention extreme moodiness)
I was afraid to tell my doctor how depressed even suicidal I got two weeks out of the month. It only got worse as time went on. I didn't like who I was becoming and it lasted from the time I ovulated until I started my flow. I cried and cried. I didn't tell anyone. One day I told my mom and she told me she went through the same thing. I went to the doctors and he said that many women go through this and I could take an antidepressant. Wow! What a difference! I took the pill everyday and one day I started my period and realized I didn't get down or very moody.
The pill I take is called Effexor. Wonder pill.

my friend was really depressed for a long time and he often got panic attacks..thanks to a very good therapist he was able to overcome it. there are just some lonely moments that we all have to go through and sometimes we cant make it on our own.
I have been depressed on and off for about 18 years. My depression has very real causes, rather than being intangable hormonal causes, and so it was always my choice to try and treat the causes rather than the symptom. I know that wouldn't work with your period being the cause, but counselling really helped me.
