Default Shopping addiction.

Do you shop to make you feel better?

Do you shop and hoard all the things in piles somewhere in your house waiting for the "right" time to use the articles?

Do you have to buy some things knowing you don't need them?

You may have an addiction to shopping.

I shop because I love shoes and purses. It doesn't always make me feel better, because I tend to feel guilty if I have spent to much money on a pair of shoes or a purse, I just had to have.

Shopping addiction is scary - I've only ever known one person with it though, and funilly enough it was a guy - he'd buy - just plain old junk (CDs even if he didn't like the artists, books he wouldn't read), and feel guilty because he'd spent too much, and the guilt would make him feel really bad, so he'd spend even more in an effort to make himself feel better - only obviously, it didn't...

This was a fair while ago, when I was still in college - he was only 18, and had racked up £20,000 (around $40,000) - in just one academic year.

I was a student union rep and he came to me for debt help - I've no idea if he ever got his problem sorted though, last I heard he was seeing the campus counsellor to find out why he felt the need to spend.

That's sad, hope he worked out his problem. I would hate for my little obsession to cause that much debt, I don't think I could live with myself. I do try to shop within my budget, but there are times when something is just a little over what I plan to spend and well I just can't help myself.

I shop for bags and shoes because no matter what your body shape and size, shoes and bags will always fit.

I don't think I have a shopping addiction, but I do have far too many bags and shoes!

I shop because I like to shop.I love purses and shoes.I budget myself.I find it very tempting to buy something that I don't necessarily need, only to tell myself the rent and bills come first. So no I don't have a shopping addiction.I hate crowded malls and will only venture out unless I really need to.

I have comfort shopped since I came to America. I am a little isolated here, and I get lonely. I have a lot of crap in my life, and have done since I came here and would frequently shop just because of the lift that it gave me.

Now the things I shopped for changed, but I still do it.
