Default Fibromyalgia

My doctor tried to pin this one me the other day and I'm not against it but I hear it's a diagnosis they give you when they can't find the cause of your problem but I'm not sure how true this is. I want to believe it is a real disease but isn't it true that women are the only ones diagnosed? I could be wrong but I've never heard of a man getting it.

Now, I went and got my blood test results after I seen the doctor, and get this, he had them right in front of him, and he said he can't find the cause of my muscle fatigue. I have a dang iron deficiency! And he was willing to give me a different diagnosis. A wrong diagnosis min you. I could have died! My iron is 28. It could be worse but come on!

Anyone here have fibromyalgia and has not ever had an iron test? I want to know how many women are being misdiagnosed.

I know that my friend who was diagnosed with it had every test under the sun, including haem tests. I have no idea why only women suffer from it, and yes, my mother in law is a none believer. She is an ER nurse.

I have yet to decide myself.

I believe it's real, but I also believe it's a catch-all when the doctors can't find anything else. I hate to dismiss it, because it wasn't that long ago we women were told that menstrual pain and cramping was all in our head. At least they aren't claiming something isn't wrong here, even if they don't know what it is.
