Ceasarians
I have had four Ceasarians so far. I sometimes feel like I have missed out on something speacial and feel cheated by not being able to give birth naturally. Is this a natural feeling? Have I missed out on something special by not being able to give birth naturally?

No, you definitely didn't miss out on anything by not having a baby naturally. It is common to feel the way that you do, though.
I had a natural birth (with an epidural). It was painful, but either way you still have your little bundle of joy. You just aren't as sore or as limited as someone might be with a C-section.
If there was even an inkling of a chance that I would need to have a C-section, I would have it done in a heartbeat to never have to go all the way through labor just to need one anyways.
I always watch A Baby Story on TLC and always wondered why some of the mothers would subject themselves to hours and hours of pain and labor when a C-section was imminent.

It's a totally natural feeling. (((hugs)))
I don't know if you missed out on anything, per se. I mean, the goal of birth is to have a healthy babe in your arms, right? So, no matter how that happens, you have done a good job.
The experience may be different, but the outcome is the same.

Thanks for all your replys. I do agree that as long as you have a healthy baby that is all that should matter. And yes I have four beautiful children. I dont understand why I feel like I do sometimes but I just wonder how every one else feels. Or if I am being selfish at all.

No you have not missed out on anything except for maybe making the pain in your tummy instead of well you know where. I think that the most important thing is that you and the baby is ok.

I had a csection, too, and other than my water breaking on my own, I didn't experience any labor at all. sometimes that bothers me, but mostly not.

I can't say from experience, but so long as you have a healthy baby, that's all that matters.
I personally am not looking forward to natural labor. My mom told me it's like 10,000 times worse than cramps. Guilt trip!

as I have gone through the same thing I know how it feels but you just have a look at your baby and you will forget all your grief...

That's right. All that matters is the baby you're holding in your arms

I had 3 c-sections and have 3 beautiful children. I remember after my first one (which followed 24 hours of labor) my husband making the comment that in older days he would have lost both me and our son (which many did years ago). So I am thankful. I don't have a longing to have a 'natural' childbirth, but I would love to be at one... which may seem strange. It's good to deal with the feelings you have, tho. They are never right or wrong. They are just you and it is good to talk about them.

I thought I had heard that it wasn't good to have more than 2 c-sections and this worried me b/c I want 3 children and sometimes you can't predict what will happen. Is this true?

C-Sections sound HORRIBLE, I dont have kids, I'm kind of afraid to have one. Plus, I'm too young as well.

I had also heard somewhere that you could only have two c-sections?

I don't think that's an across-the-board rule. I think most American OB/GYNs think that multiple vaginal births after a csection are more dangerous than multiple c-sections (I'm not saying i agree with that, just that's what they [or insurance companies] seem to think).

A doctor of mine said that when you first have a normal delivery, then have a C-section the next, the succeeding births will always be a C-section unless, your Ob-gyn is a very good one and she knows or remembers how she stitched you she can still give you a normal delivery.

mine was exactly the same situation but i am quite glad that i had a c-section, though it was an emergency one. It sure made me get out of the painful process of natural birthing. I don't feel cheated at all. Just think of it that apart from the pain to the mother, the baby's journey from his home to the world is the most painful. I sure am happy that my baby didn't suffer that.
