Have you tried taking continuous bcps?

That is, continuous birth control pills, ie, not taking the fake ones for one week, but taking the active ones all the time.

I've been doing it for a few years. It's great except when I forget a pill.

Well, I kind of do this. I do this 2 packs at a time. I was on the one called Seasonale (I think) that was 3 packs at a time, but my body said, "Whaaaat? No way! I don't care what these hormones are telling me, I'm going to have a period anyway!" lol

Laura, I take the generic brand of Loestrin. It's cheap and does the same thing pretty much as Seasonale, but you can ask your doctor.

I have medical reasons for taking them without stopping. The side effects you mention go away after a few months.

I took seasonale for a while when my OB/GYN found cysts on my ovaries. I took it for about a year until the cycsts shrunk to nonexistent. I had no ill effects and I would use it again if I needed a BCP.

I took BC's for 20+ years without any problems... then said to he** to BC's and had my uterus cauterized... worked wonders. I am sterile and don't have to consume hormones anymore.
