Is anyone here trying to lose weight? I'm find that after menopause, it's really hard to lose weight. It seems like my metabolism really slowed down about that time and I gained weight. Now, exercise and eating right just don't seem to help much. I'll continue working on it and would love to hear your ideas.

Fortunately I don't have any weight problems yet. I think moderation is key to keeping your weight in check. Be sure to exercise moderately, and eat fatty foods sparingly. Also load up on the vegetables!
OK.. so lets see I ahve been dieting since I was 4........
Yup I was one of those kids that was put on diet pills, thyroid pills, monkeyed with to loose weight and made worse as I got older because of all that stuff..........
I am currently on, for a year so far South Beach. with Slimfast I have replaced fat with muscle so I didnt loose numbers just inches.
I went from a size 18 almost 20 in pants and a 24 in a blouse to a 14/16 in pants and an 18/20 in a blouse. inhereited boobs are big.. yuck......
Anyway, I eat protein to fiber ratio like southbeach and use slimfast as a shake with meals to fill me up. so I eat less. It works well for me........
In teh summer teh weight drops off on this diet and snorkeling three or four times a weekf or two hours each time.
I am the same size I ended last year so ithelps to keep me stable.
My hubby actually came up with it after going through diets with me. I ahve to watch high prteins though because I am dibetic and i want to keep my kidneys.....
I think one of the most important things for following a diet and exercise program is being accountable to someone. That way, you don't slack off or cheat if you know you have to tell someone about it. Having a support group or weightloss buddy can definitely be helpful. I know other people who have had success by joining online groups too. I am a member of a site called Healia Communities and they have a weightloss group. It also has a lot of good medical advice, so you can make sure you are losing weight in a healthy manner. It is always good to connect with other people so that you can share tips and help to motivate each other.
Motivation is so hard for me. I need to find someone, a woman, to be an exercise buddy. Anyone in the LA area? Trying to eat healthy and exercise.

I lost 15 pounds in just one month, is that good?
what i did was eat only fish, corn and beans with fruit for snacks, of course i had to run 3 times a week for 40 minutes, so ya anyone can do it just takes a little bit of self motivation and perseverance

its hard to lose weight,try to eat healthy and get quite alot of exercise which helps.
