What is our feeling on femininity these days? Is it something that we embrace with fashion and makeup and giggling that we check at the door of our offices when we need to be professional... or is it something that empowers us, that helps us in our careers and makes us powerful women?
i think my quality which makes me feminine is that im very nurturing...it's like women are naturally built to be this way...although in some people it's not too obvious.
With me it depends on my mood - sometimes I fancy getting dressed up, sometimes I don't.
I never really make a big deal of my gender. I'm in an industry where if you go 'Look at me I'm female' you get either snubbed totally for being an attention seeker, or talked down to. It's easier to just wear something that fits the occasion (usually very casual) and behave in a professional manner.
I love being feminin. My girls do too. They are 6 and 7 and love to dress up. I don't let them dress up at church or school but fingernail polish and lip gloss and cute girly jewlery are fine with me.
My daughter is a little girly girl, but all my effort goes into that. Between work and play there is no time to prissy myself up, so I aim for tidy and nothing else.
I love being feminine.I enjoy it when I dress up when I go out to dinner with my husband.I love wearing makeup and wearing perfume.I enjoy it when men open doors for me.My husband still opens my car door before his.Being a Marine...how cool is that?Femininity comes from the beauty within.Outward appearances don't matter as long as you feel beauty, then thats all that counts. My oldest daughter...is a work in progress. She is my diamond in the rough and a mommy herself. She has no feminine qualities as she tends not to dress like a woman. As embarrassed as I must admit....if you did not know her,you would think she was a male. But that's ok.I still think she is beautiful no matter what. Then there is my middle and youngest daughters.Middle daughter is a typical girly girl.Youngest daughter is a tomboy turning into a lady. They all still have their feminine qualities in their own way.
Having been in the same place that your daughters are, I can say with confidence that it might not be that way forever! I finally found pink about six years ago, having owned nothing that wasn't black for a decade. Now, the world is my oyster, and although I don't go out deliberately and doll myself up every day, I can when I want to, or need to. I just don't have the time right now.

That's me most days. I have chosen to color my hair now because of all my gray. Today I went and got my nails done for the first time in ten years. I'm so tired of looking at my same old thin brittle ones.
