The writers:
In alphabetical order:
Erin:
Erin D. is a fashion, beauty and travel writer with an unhealthy appetite for Lanvin handbags. In addition to The Purse Page, Erin covers beauty and celebrity style for TopButton, and is the Your Looks editor for SingleMindedWomen.com.
Fate:
Fate came to be a purse lover by way of a shoe obsession (what’s a great pair of shoes without a fabulous purse?) and is now currently nursing both fixations. Fate briefly worked for a large high-end retailer but tendered her resignation to pursue other interests, including opening her own boutique in a large metropolis. After nearly a year growing the business, Fate headed back to New York, where she grew up, to chase other opportunities, and has been here since.
A few fun tidbits about her purse collection:
First designer purse obsession:
Prada Campus Messenger – I saved my work-study pennies to pick up 3: black, cream and hot pink.
What you’ll find in her purse closet:
Lots of Marc Jacobs and Fendi, a smattering of Chanel, some Hermes, a bit of Dior, Vuitton, YSL and Bottega Veneta, and a few other designer ambassadors.
Current Go-To purse designer:
Marc Jacobs. My style completely: downtown cool meets uptown polish with a good dose of ‘arty’, hold the pretension.
Purse Pet Peeve:
I hate when people roughly knock into my purse on the street. Could ya maybe watch your coffee/newspaper/hotdog near the nappa leather/lambskin, please?
Purse Quirk:
I name all my purses. Shhhhhh!
Mariana:
Mariana L. is a NYC-based designer and artist for the fashion industry whose work has been featured in magazines and television appearances around the world. She graduated from Parsons, The New School for Design in New York and Paris in 1996. In addition to her fashion projects, Mariana also enjoys contributing to websites, publications and events for creative industries. You can drop her a line at wengmengny@aol.com or check out her work at www.marianaleung.com
Samantha: coming soon!
Tanya:
Tanya S. can almost always be found conducting “research” at the mall. When she’s not doing that, this busy fashion and beauty writer is clicking away on the keyboard, nursing a cup of black coffee and writing about all things glamorous. Tanya is a Site Editor at LoveToKnow Shoes and Skin Care, writes the Love It or Leave It and Fashion Freakout blogs at Top Button and is a regular contributor to many other publications. She is also alarmingly obsessed with Marc Jacobs.
The webmaster:
Marco is a fashion fan and the webmaster of The Purse Page.
Marco’s interest in fashion started in his early teens and grew from there. “I didn’t like high school, “says Marco. “I used to ditch school and take the train into downtown Boston to look at all the upscale shops on Newbury Street and Copley Square. I’d see stores like Neiman Marcus, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and would day dream about being able to shop there as an adult.” Later on Marco’s interest in fashion grew from being addicted to watching shows such as Sex and the City and then later Project Runway. The latter is what inspired him to create The Purse Page. His favorite garment designers are Marc Jacobs, Catherine Malandrino, and Versace. His favorite bag designers are Prada and Marc Jacobs.
“I notice bags everywhere I go now”, says Marco. “It’s exciting to see a woman carrying a designer bag and know the name of it and say to myself ‘we reviewed that bag on the Purse Page’. That’s happening more and more. Its fun.”
Marco has worked for over 10 years in the tech industry, however The Purse Page is his first blog. In a past life he was the webmaster for a handful of dot com companies before striking out on his own.
