Mischa looks great leaving a London club a few nights ago. She’s wearing the Chanel flap bag from the Punk collection from a few seasons ago. I was eyeing the timeless clutch version of this bag, but with it’s whopping 3k price tag I had to let it slip by. The purse was a seasonal offering from Chanel, but if you’re young, I think you can rock the bag for some time to come. The black distressed lambskin and gobs of hardware add an edge to a day look, and looks perfectly appropriate at night.

Beyonce shops at American Apparel like the rest of us…only she does it with the super new Chanel tote. I don’t even know what the name of this bag is (I would be a Chanel girl if I had the bank account for it), but I know it is new because I remember seeing it in Elle a month or two ago. I’m curious to see what Beyonce bought at Am Ap…but on to the bag! Formal ID please!

Cut-off jean shorts? Check. Flannel shirt smuggled from ex-boyfriend? Check. Giant bag of dog food? Check. Stunning navy blue Chanel 2.55 purse? Ohhhhhhh yeeeeeeeeah. Christina Ricci’s got all her basics - and some of her not so basics - down in this casual meets couture ensemble, proving that no task is too small to involve Chanel (though I personally draw the line at going to the gym; Coco just didn’t do squats). Though mixing luxury handbags with casual clothes can sometimes have mixed results, I think Christina’s look works on an Olsen-like low-key-but-methodically-so level. And I love the navy hue for summer; it’s a perfect match for the season’s nautical trend.

Mischa Barton may be poised on the precipice of C-list obscurity, what with her resume of straight-to-DVD clunkers. Still, MBar is wise to the fact that wearing something quirky will at the very least garner a mention from the Fashion Police. But - dare I say it? - I actually like Mischa’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’ redux. The hairband, the lacy frock, the studded heels, the sequinned Chanel bag…it’s all so costumey but charmingly so. And you know me - I’m like the Bubba Gump of Chanel handbags. I like them quilted, smooth, sequinned, broiled…

Funny, I don’t remember being able to afford Chanel purses back in my intern days. Then again, I didn’t have an MTV camera crew filming the experience. In Lauren Conrad’s world, a fabulous Chanel 2.55 purse in black is just the thing to tote while running errands (the big black tote on her other arm suggests either a shopping excursion or laundry day). Lauren’s terrific style doesn’t stop at the Chanel bag; her skintight black leggings and tan studded platforms also ooze LA girl glamour. Take some notes, Heidi.

I’m not sure what’s more intriguing…Beyonce’s chic navy Chanel handbag with white quilted topstitching, or the fact that there very well may be a baby bump underneath it. After all, carrying a large handbag is a tried-and-true celeb tactic for concealing pregnancies, and Beyonce’s got two on her arm (not to mention a very protective bodyguard). I like the navy bag - very nautical chic - but I think Beyonce’s matchy-matchy outfit goes overboard. And is it just me, or are her nails painted neon yellow?

Going once…going twice…SOLD! According to People.com, one generous bidder spent over $471,000 on this stunning croc Chanel purse (love those double straps!). Now, the bag is fabulous and all, and we all know that Chanel isn’t cheap, but that’s a lot of dough. Happily the money will go towards AIDS research, and the handbag will go in some lucky girl’s closet (or display case). And since Madonna was kind enough to donate her auctioning services for the amFAR event, I’m totally going to turn a blind eye to that, um, iiiiinteresting dress.

Rachel Bilson sure loves Chanel. On more than a few accounts, we’ve seen her tote everything from the smallest messenger to a big roomy tote, as seen here. I really love the way the large bag balances her tiny frame without overpowering it. Rachel is also rocking the ever-so-trendy Love Quotes scarf (not sure what color; any suggestions?) and the turnlock sandals from Coach. She sure does love a label!
