Frankly, I don’t know which I want more: the delicious David Beckham, or the to-die-for Hermes Birkin Victoria’s toting. Hmmm…how about the Birkin, hand-delivered by David? Though I love love love the purse, I’m not crazy about Posh’s questionable airport ensemble. The burgundy top is nice, and looks great against the taupe bag, but those painted-on leather leggings just aren’t cutting it (how’d you like to sit on a plane in those circulation-blocking babies?). And, not to get too picky, but Posh’s beige trilby clashes with the bag. But hey, nobody’s perfect. Except for David, I mean.

Katie Holmes has been spotted everywhere with those pegged Current/Elliot jeans (available through Barneys), despite the fact that they haven’t gotten the best reviews. Last week, she (finally!) left those at home, but her affair with menswear continued. Spotted in New York City, where she’s working on a Broadway production, Katie stepped out in high waisted, wide legged trouser jeans, a basic gray tee paired with navy cardigan and, for the luxe factor, an Hermès Kelly briefcase. While I prefer this ensemble to her usual one of late, I think Katie can use an infusion of age-appropriate, more feminine pieces in her wardrobe — her fashion choices add about a decade to her 29 years of age.

In “Steel Magnolias,” the wedding colors of Julia Roberts‘ character were “blush and bashful.” But in real life, she’s a much bigger fan of…blush and…jack-o-lantern? True, orange is the signature Hermes color, but there’s a difference between admiring that classic orange box and pairing a Sunny D-hued Birkin with not just a pink cardy but a floral peasant skirt to boot. (Somewhere an assistant is waving smelling salts under Victoria Beckham’s nostrils.) Posh it’s not, but I suppose Julia has better things to do than worry about clashing colors and structured purses with unstructured outfits. Me, I would have saved the orange-you-glad-it’s-Hermes bag for some high-class Halloween trick or treating.

Ahhhh, Victoria Beckham. I absolutely adore her. In a land of Rachel Zoe clones and purposeful dishevelment, Victoria makes it her business to look perfectly coiffed and polished. Here she is at London Heathrow (I know that terminal well!) with her adorable boys, looking nothing less than a fashion plate. I love the unexpected combination of a black hue (the gray pencil skirt) paired with a brown hue (the rosy, taupeish top, possibly Missoni), cinched in by a beautiful YSL honey-toned belt. And the pièce de résistance: the 35cm Gold Togo with Gold hardware Hermès Birkin that not only compliments the ensemble but also makes it stand out. Victoria, dahhhling, you belong in New York, not Cali!

Guess Heidi Montag didn’t lose that Hermes Birkin handbag after all; she just swapped it for a different color. This ultra-white version is as blindingly bright as that “engagement ring” Spencer Pratt gave Heidi on “The Hills,” but undoubtedly worth a loooooot more. Say what you want about these two (really, go on - say it!), but there’s no denying that Heidi has killer taste in purses. Is it any wonder that her new single (groan) is called “Fashion”?

Have Birkin, will travel! New parents Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony surfaced in Milan accompanied by a very prominent brown crocodile Hermes Birkin purse. As striking and sophisticated as the handbag is, I’m not won over by the odd color combination going on with the brown Birkin and the olive-meets-Dijon green dress Jennifer is rocking. Perhaps a black leather model would have been more appropriate?

Looks like the Pink Ladies have a new recruit: Victoria ‘Posh Spice’ Beckham. Hollywood’s most fashionable mum dazzled in a rosy one-two punch of a hot pink Hermes Ostrich Birkin and matching statuesque platform pumps, adding a flirty and colorful accent to her sophisticated but rather rumpled (fix that tie, hon!) ruffled black dress. I think the pink adds a playful touch, though the dress would also look fabulous with a more elegant black or metallic purse and this season’s edgy, strappy black heels.

We’re always inundated with everything Brad & Angelina, and compared to those two, Jennifer Aniston can never compete for media attention. Just as well because Jen seems like a quiet, down to earth sort of gal. She was spotted at LAX catching a plane to Heathrow, no doubt to see her love interest, John Mayer. In the 90’s, Jen’s brand of minimalism was de rigueur, but it sometimes gets lost in this age of bling. I, for one, am never really impressed with Jen’s (lack of) fashion choices, but this picture made me do a double take. In her chosen uniform of jeans an a tee, Jen looks rather yawn-inducing, but check out that delicious bag she’s toting! The leather looks buttery and the color is almost iridescent! On second glance, I recognize that it’s an Hermès creation: the Massai. While I’d never choose this style of handbag for myself, the Massai fits Jen’s style perfectly: quiet and unassuming, comfortable and streamlined. This particularly bag looks to me to be the color graphite, rendered in Hermès‘ Swift leather, though don’t quote me on that until I can locate a closeup!Shop for more designer purses by Hermes by Shopzille
