I’ll admit: I usually give Juicy Couture a hard time. But I’m finding that their bags have grown up a bit from the days of oversized, embroidered crowns and hot pink. While the name of the Juicy Couture Blondie Velour Tote made me imagine something suited for a tow-headed woman with some sort of adjective emblazoned across the rear of her jogging pants, I was pleasantly surprised to see something a little more mature. Though this print is indeed velour, it’s not nearly as fuzzy as I had expected, and the pattern is even reminiscent of Diane von Furstenberg. Lose the heart tag, and then we’ll talk, Blondie. When I wrote recently about Juicy Couture bags being a little immature more often than not, the Sunnies Laptop Case is an example of what I had in mind. If I saw somebody carrying this bag to work, I wouldn’t be surprised if it contained their Barbie collection and not their laptop. That said, there’s a time and place for everything, and that’s college — so if you’re going to carry this bag, I hope you’re still an undergrad. It’s $98 at Zappos Couture.

I love a quirky trompe-l’œil purse, and the Juicy Couture Sequin Embellishment Daydreamer Tote is no exception. While I would never actually carry the bag depicted on this tote if it were real, I have to admit that sequin assault is much cuter on a smaller, cartoon scale. It’s irreverent without being immature, which is more than I can say for a lot of Juicy Couture bags. It’ll be a darling way to add a bit of dazzle on those gym clothes and ponytail days without feeling like your purse is overdressed for the (lack of) occasion. This Juicy Couture Dusk Till Dawn Sunburst Sequins Tote is just the kind of bag I would’ve wanted to start carrying in March. It’s bright, cheerful and springy enough to beat the gloom. Miraculously, I made it through spring without it, but now that summer’s here, I think this tote is just right for beach days and pool parties.
