Chic or shabby? I can’t quite decide. This Lanvin Grosgrain Flower Tote gets its unique texture from layered grosgrain ribbons, but to me it looks a bit like the bag is falling apart. The shape, color, and even the bright pop of yellow with that flower (wilted as it may be) are great for spring, but if I’m going to spend nearly two thousand dollars on a handbag, I don’t want it to look like I’ve been carrying it for years. When I look at this adorable Lanvin Denim Logo Tote, I see me and my boyfriend smuggling outside sodas and boxed candy into the movies back when we were in high school… or last week, you know, whenever. The nontraditional strap is composed of sturdy chain links, which lend the bag a hefty appearance and actually take away from its glamour. Most of the overnight bags I’ve owned have been of the functional, nondescript sort. They don’t stand out and, shamefully, some of them have started to show some signs of wear.
