58 and Counting!

No, this isn’t the name of a new reality show. It’s the number of shopping days until Christmas! Let’s face it, right after Halloween things start to move into high gear. Next up is Thanksgiving and after Black Friday and Cyber Monday, everything is a blur.

Many stores are trying to get us to start our shopping earlier by offering price guarantees through January. Truth be told, there are a lot of great sales that go on even before Black Friday, so why not start shopping now?

The best way to get the best deals is to be organized: make a list (and you really should check it twice!), know the right sizes, and have your ideas lined up. What better tool to help you stay on track this year than a sharp looking organizer?

When is a purse too pricey?

In searching for handbags to write about, I recently came across an alligator backpack that retails for $38,500, more than what most of us paid for our first car (and maybe as much as some of us paid for our current car!).

Serious purse lovers know the big guns in the industry like Hermes, Proenza Schouler and Balenciaga regularly put out bags that go for $20,000 and up. So how much is too much to pay for a handbag?

Every woman has her own purse point.  That being said, here are three bags that have made it into most of the top ten most expensive handbag lists. These items are not currently for sale, but I did include the official website for each designer so you can check out the new fall lines.

Do you love Chanel? Check this out. There are only thirteen Diamond Forever Classic Bags. Each one features 334 diamonds, totaling 3.56 carats, and an 18-carat white gold frame – and tops off at $261,000.

If you have an extra $150,000 you want to get rid of, you can throw it away on the Urban Satchel. Created and covered with “urban charms,” this LV bag is really just covered in trash.  As Seth Meyers would say on SNL, “Really”? Even though it looks like a joke, there are celebrities and fashion icons who are fighting over this thing.

I don’t know any woman who wouldn’t welcome a Hermes bag into her wardrobe. Some styles are more attainable, but the Matte Crocodile Birkin  is adorned with ten carats in diamonds and a white gold clasp. The price tag: $120,000.

You know it’s got to be worth a second glance if Sarah Jessica Parker wore it. The actress was spotted carrying the berry version of the Louis Vuitton Trapezio Art Deco, a wondrously artsy bag that incorporates a semi-teardrop silhouette with a sultry, slinky chain and a geometrically complex flap. This color, called Vieux Rose, incorporates a hint of brown and plenty of blush, which makes it perfect to carry throughout fall and into winter. If you follow such things, you might know that millions of women who were supposed to grow up to be normal instead became Jessica Biel detractors. OMGSHEDATEDJUSTINSHESUGLYOMG. Seriously? You’re 27 and ‘N Sync is dead.

The hate is lame, especially because Miss Biel happens to be pretty fabulous. She consistently exudes a vibe of understated chic, almost always with an underlying classic allure that feels fresh in this age of oversexed celebutantes. Here she is with one of her old standbys, the Louis Vuitton Mahina Stellar Bag. The magnificent color (bleu ceil) really pops, and, impressively, Biel pulls off something like four different shades of blue in one look with surprising ease.

(Oh, and rumor has it she’s keeping company with Gerard Butler now. Methinks she’s safe from any further wrath, unless he has some rabid fan base of which I’m unaware.)

Oh, that Jennifer Love Hewitt. Some days, she’s so on point it’s ridiculous. Other days, she looks…well, like this. Don’t get me wrong. The lady is, in general, an absolute doll. I love the thick braid she’s sporting here. I think I like the shoes, too, toe spillage notwithstanding. The shirt, though, does her adorably curvy figure no favors whatsoever. It makes her look about six months along, which is just not a good thing if, well, you aren’t. Her Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis Alma BB, though? Lifesaver, that is. Good thing she carries it often.

I just can’t get enough of Kim Kardashian’s, well, dashing style! The bombshell was recently spotted wheeling around a smoking hot Louis Vuitton Pegase Rolling Bag. I don’t know who is cuter, Kristin Chenoweth or her petite pup Maddie! What a pretty pair they make. One thing I do know, though, is that I positively adore her beautiful Louis Vuitton Odeon MM Bag. The always pleasant and posh Paris Hilton was out shopping with sister Nicky last weekend, where she was spotted wearing an absolutely stunning Louis Vuitton Rodeo Drive Bag.
