Frankly, all those photos of celebrities turning up at LAX dressed to the nines get a big eye roll from me. Sure, they look great, but…who has the time? I’m a fashion writer and even I roll up to the airport wearing the stretchiest, comfiest outfits I can find. Why waste my good outfits on some seat-mate who’s just going to plant his doughy arm on my arm rest while boring me with tales of his Sudoko fixation? So sneer all you want at Jessica Simpson, but she at least looks comfortable and ready to sit on a plane for a few hours. And the girl can get away with those silly furry legwarmer boots when she’s packing not one but two Louis Vuitton bags: a monogram suitcase and the hipper embossed black purse. Let’s just the airline doesn’t lose her luggage!

I am sorry, but this look is a total disaster. She may not be dressed to the nines, still she is trying too hard to seem cool and trendy. Between two LVs, that hat (Burberry?) hat, and boots, she has lost all the meaning of subtlety. Then again, subtlety has never been her strong point.

Erin, I’m with you. Comfy is the only way to go when traveling, especially with 4 children in toe. Jeans, sweatshirt, tennis shoes… I’m good.
