It didn’t take me long to determine the problem with this Marc Jacobs purse: it’s got dull, mismatched stones plastered on the flap. I’m as open to unexpected elements as anyone, but there’s nothing that actually stands out on the Anna Small Hobo. The stones blend hues of rust, navy, black and white, which should easily explain why they don’t work well here. The black purse itself is completely ordinary, though I might have preferred it without the ornamentation. If you’re a fan, you’re in luck – MJ’s Fall ’07 collection is full of similar, stone-adorned bags. Available to pre-order for $1950 at Nordstrom.
