Marc Jacobs Resort 2012

Marc Jacobs tells a vivid and decidedly peppy story for Resort 2012. One glance at this massive collection of handbags ought to be proof enough, what with its incredibly creative (and sometimes shocking) color combinations, color-blocking techniques and fresh interpretations of classic styles. It is, simply put, mesmerizing, and truly some of Jacobs’ finest work to date. Here’s a look at a handful of these to-die-for-a-million-times bags:
Far be it for me to go gaga over a snakeskin bag, but have a look at this Marc Jacobs Khaki Tote and tell me you don’t feel a little something, too (and I don’t mean a tingle of fear). Beautiful panels of gold surround a strong white and turquoise color-blocked design, creating a unique and surprisingly simple bag that looks crisp and modern, yet retains the sensibilities of a basic, everyday tote.
Very, very high on my must-have list is the Marc Jacobs Rose Handbag, which is truly riveting in its design. I’m particularly drawn to the flap’s warm, coral-pink hue; it stands out strongly next to white without completely washing the latter out, either. Add to that some gold trim and you’re all set for nonstop sexiness and practicality. Good stuff.
You know what every woman needs? An orange bag. Think about it. Orange isn’t necessarily a good head-to-foot color, but it almost always works as a complementary accessory. The key? Be fearless about it. With this Marc Jacobs Thompson Satchel in your grasp, you can (and will) be.
Why, yes, yes I do need a fluorescent fuchsia iPad case with juicy orange lace all over it. Granted, I didn’t quite know i needed one until I spotted the Marc Jacobs Fluo Lace iPad Case, but that’s neither here nor there. I love anything that can make two totally unlikely colors work so well, and this really does (and it protects my lovely iPad, natch).
