The first time I ever spotted the Alexander McQueen Faithful Polished Leather Satchel, I thought, hmmm, what is he thinking, designing such an obvious mimicry of a Balenciaga bag? This just isn’t a bag that screams McQueen – but I’m a bit more convinced that it’s worth a second glance now, maybe thanks to this version’s pretty rose hue (seriously, all it takes is pink and I’m sold on nearly anything).

This is a great bag for adding a hint of toughened-up sweetness to no-fuss suits and other basic ensembles, and it’s got all the space you need to hold the essentials for the day. Pity McQueen is no longer with us. This style doesn’t hold a candle to his most unique work, and it would have been fascinating to see what he would have imagined. Still, the memories live on!
