Next week I’m attending a “Celebrate the New Ann Taylor” event, where the company will introduce us to its newest collection and revitalized approach to design. If you weren’t familiar with AT previously, it’s a label generally associated with women of a mature age. The new lineup is decidedly less exclusive in that regard, and much more in line with what women all across the board look for in their work wardrobes, weekend wear and even evening attire.

I have a hard time connecting the new vibe with the Ann Taylor Tassels Shoulder Bag, which is pretty nice but not quite what I envision when I think of youth or even Naomi Watts, who is the new face for the company. It’s just an unfussy, unrestrained, generally uncomplicated everyday accessory, worthy of an extra glance for its tassel bundle, but not exactly bursting with amazing creativity otherwise.
