Anya Hindmarch Resort 2012

Anya Hindmarch presents a range of dignified, ladylike clutches, totes and handbags for Resort 2012. It’s a collection composed of brilliant colors, with plenty of rich navies, fiery reds and shots of metallic gold thrown in (for that sparkly touch). A far cry from the designer’s quirky statement bags, this collection is less cheeky and more posh than what is typical of Hindmarch. That, though, makes it all incredibly special, and that much more glamorous, to boot.
The Beaded Marano Clutch is one of the most attention-grabbing things in the range, and that’s saying something for such a bag awash in such neutral colors. Soft blush silk lends it a romantic appearance, boosted by a smattering of all-over beads and striking, floral-inspired embroidery.
Possibly my favorite of the bunch, the Stripy Gracie Shoulder Bag is by far the most appealing version of this classic style that I’ve seen to date. Wide blocks of red shagreen mingle with striking sea snake for an incredibly luxurious, upscale look. Despite its utterly haute detailing, this bag can easily make merry with everything from jeans and tees to a classic wrap dress and pumps.
Go for the gold and the silver, courtesy of this mixed metallic Mini Huxley Tote. It’s quite the little stunner, thanks to its glitzed-up exterior and oversized tassel bundle. Peek inside and you’ll see something that is Hindmarch through and through: labeled pockets, including one each for “Phone,” “Music” and “Bits & Bobs.”
A brazenly blue bag makes a chic addition to your fall wardrobe. The Lola Travel Clutch is actually a wallet, but who’s nitpicking? The point is that it’s stunning, despite the fact that it’s made of pleated eel. While the skin doesn’t appeal to me, the clutch’s appearance is charming. Even the gold bow logo, though incredibly discreet, adds a certain something extra to the equation.
