Anya Hindmarch Spring/Summer 2012

And now for something special to brighten up your day. Spring is never without the promise of radiance and of vibrant hues, so it’s no surprise that designer Anya Hindmarch employed both when designing her spring/summer 2012 collection. The lineup is rife with all of the details that put a smile on any girly-girl’s face, from punchy colors to memorable designs that factor into any warm weather wardrobe with ease.
First up: the super-chic Valorie Clutch. It’s not every day you turn to a bag made of rubber to finish off your look, but chances are you’ll be tempted by this little dynamo. The juicy tangerine-orange color is playful and lighthearted – an apt mood to set for a season that marks the return of sunshine (and for many, sunnier spirits).
Got a thing for straw? Many women develop a taste for the stuff at the first sign of warmth, but it can be tough to find a straw bag that doesn’t look dowdy and completely unfashionable. Solution? Nab yourself an Ipanema Basket Tote (because “tall and tan and young and lovely” you certainly are, after all!) and flaunt its summery style with pride. This bag works because of its practical design, which includes a useful front flap pocket, an interior compartment and ample space for the essentials (plus a cotton lining).
Color is great, but some ensembles call for a crisp neutral. Nix the basic blacks and tans in favor of an understated snakeskin instead. The Maxi Zip Satchel is a fabulous everyday bag that happens to make a swift transition to evening. The color is perfect for the warmest periods of the year, but the grainy finish and subtle black undertones keep it interesting, right on trend, and cold weather-appropriate, too.
