Diane von Furstenberg Spring/Summer 2012

As one of fashion’s major players, Diane von Furstenberg has nothing to prove – yet she consistently churns out gorgeous new pieces season after season, leaving us all in a state of breathless, where’s-all-my-hard-earned-money-going? wonder. That’s especially true of her spring/summer 2012 bag collection. Turns out DVF can do a gorgeous purse that rivals any high-end label out there.
It’s almost hard to know where to begin, but the designer’s Tonda Snake Clutch is a safe bet. From the true, sea blue watersnake to the perfect silhouette and sturdy hard shell construction, this wins all awards for perfect night-out bag come spring. Try it with just about anything – a crisp linen suit, a flirtatious floral dress or even a hot LBD – and wait for heads to turn.
Almost every spring, women begin to fantasize about a new tan bag to complement all of those bright colors suddenly taking over their wardrobes. This Harper Anna Tote is an excellent choice, thanks to its spacious and thoughtful design. The exterior pocket is just large enough to store a few essentials (you’ll certainly never lose your keys again) and the tassel detail is discreet, yet effective.
Designed in collaboration with Vogue magazine, the Adele Clutch was featured on the runway with a printed sweater and a pair of crisp madras shorts. Though that styling idea works, I tend to consider Adele more ladylike than preppy. The exotic crocodile and leather combination is quietly striking, mainly because the pale rose and gray hues are so subdued. It’s a beauty!
