Dooney & Bourke Zebra Large Sac
| By: Erin D. | ||

This is a lesson in how NOT to do an animal print. Sure, I’ve seen much worse handbags than this Dooney & Bourke Zebra Large Sac, but that doesn’t make this one any more stylish. The zebra-print leather is too bold, swirly, and overwhelming – with animal prints, there’s a fine line between wild & chic and wild & ick and this one is the latter. And when you’re dealing with animal skin, you want to avoid red leather trim like the plague – here the touches of red make me think of blood and the fact that this bag used to be running around. Gulp. It’s like that red velvet armadillo cake in “Steel Magnolias” – some things are just better left unsaid (or unseen).
